We enjoy a close working relationship with the Toronto Catholic District School Board for whom we completed Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, a high performance facility for 720 students (ranging from kindergarten to grade 8) and 50 staff.

The new school structure included an underground parking feature in response to security, building space requirements, and tight boundaries.

The layout of the school provided wide 'streets’ for the students to conduct extracurricular activities in a secured environment due to limited outdoor space.

Community presentation, feasibility study, consultation with the trustee, the city Councillor, the School Board and the steering committee of the school were all undertaken as part of this project.

This project demonstrates our ability to manage consultation with many stakeholders, communicate effectively with the local and school communities, and shepherd a complex site plan approval through the City of Toronto.

Our approach to the limitations of the site required innovation in efficiency and space flexibility.

Our design focused on allowing space for movement while providing a heightened sense of security.

A roof top garden is included to provide additional outdoor space and is located on the second level of the school.
